I thought I'd start back simple and just give a small overview of my skincare routine at the moment, the products I'm using morning, night time and in between!

Apologies for the hiatus too guys! It's definitely been a while, but hopefully with the different aspects of my life evening out I'll be able to put my heart back into something that I am passionate about ❤ ❤ ❤

I have a fairly simple morning routine..

I start the day with my Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water on a cotton disc, to get rid of any oil/residue on my skin before applying my mosturiser and makeup of the day.

I've also started using the Clean & Clear rapid Action Pads all over my face as I have noticed break-outs on my chin area are reappearing recently, and so I'm trying to keep them at bay with this Salicylic Acid based treatment.

In the evening then, I use the Garnier Two Phase Eye Makeup Remover to remove any waterproof makeup (It's amazeballs!)and my Micellar water again to remove the rest of my makeup. Following this I use the Clean & Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser, which leaves a lovely fresh tingly, minty feeling on the skin. I smooth it on after splashing my face with water, and leave it for 2/3 minutes. I have combination/dry skin so I use this to help keep my skin clear on a day to day basis - I'll get into my deep treatments in a moment.
I usually rinse this off using a facecloth and some warm water to exfoliate as I rinse it off.

If I'm having a bad skin day/week/lifetime I usually load up on Sudocrem as a night treatment, before I do that though, recently I bought the Lush Cosmetic Warrior mask and found it does wonders at calming down big breakouts. Among other awesome ingredients, it also contains Tea Tree Oil and Garlic! It may not sound so hot (or look so hot...) but it really does work wonders. It goes on very smoothly and sets very slightly from the Kaolin (clay) in it. I prefer this to clay heavy masks as I don't find the tightness from the dry clay very comfortable. An added bonus from storing it in the fridge is that it's lovely and cooling on the skin!

Following these I mosturise with the L'Oreal Miracle Perfection Correcting Day Mosturiser. I haven't seen a drastic improvement over the last 2 - 3 months I've been using this, but I do find that it keeps my skin from being too dehydrated. It has a lovely smooth texture that feels slightly gelatinous, and a luxurious scent to it too. It feels slightly tacky on the skin at first but after a few moments it sinks in.

I follow these steps as much as I can day to day, but if I'm up late and am too tired to wash my face thoroughly I use Johnsons Makeup be Gone Pampering Wipes to remove my makeup and follow with the Clean & Clear pads and L'Oreal moisturiser.

This has been my basic skin care routine for the past month and at the moment I'm quite happy with it. I am nearing the end of my moisturiser, so might look into something different, but other than that I find that, while it's not perfect, my skin is the best it's been for quite a while.

That's all for the moment!
I know it's been a (very) long while since my last post, but I do hope to pop in and out occasionally to rave/rant about new products that I'm encountering (ahem, which is a considerable amount currently!!)

Let me know what your Holy Grail Skin Care product is and why!

Talk to you all soon! xo

*As you know these products work for me, but that does not necessarily mean they will work for everyone, I'm merely trying to give the world my opinions and ideas on certain aspects of them.
MAC Style Curve tutorial videoSo after my first proper video yesterday I did another one, this time a bit bolder and a bit more out there.

I've lately become obsessed with purple lipsticks and I'm really getting into them more and more, so I decided to use my new MAC Style Curve lipstick in this one.

It's a really bright look, perfect for summer and very suiting to the current season's trend of bright, bold lips & eyes.

Again, I hope you enjoy it and don't forget to leave feedback, either here or in the comments on the youtube page!

Have fun!

Ta-ta for now! xo

I finally bit the bullet and recorded & uploaded my first video to youtube! It's a soft, summery look with a pop of coral on the eyes and a soft baby pink lip.

I'm definitely gonna do another one, probably today as the weather isn't so great and it's fun! I only have my iPhone to record with and this video was done using the front facing camera which records in 480p, so not the greatest, but I'm going to try my back camera today which is 720p - HD baby!

I'm at my boyfriends house at the moment and he's playing a video game so at the moment my videos will have music over them (I hope you like it!), but hopefully when I get some time I can do proper tutorials/hauls /reviews and the rest.

I really hope you enjoy this and please feel free to leave some feedback here and/or on the youtube page! I have a few ideas on what I am going to do next but let me know what you like to see!

So without further ado.. Sit back, relax and enjoy!

I hope you're all keeping well!

I got these nail polishes from my wonderful mummy, who brought them back for me from her trip to England. I was super excited as I have wanted the L'Oreal Confetti polish for ages now, and these are pretty much the same.

The colours I got were Rainforest Canopy, Speckled Pink and Chalk Dust.

Speckled Pink and Rainforest Canopy are the same as Chalk Dust but with coloured nail polish instead of clear.

The coloured ones go on pretty sheer and you have to layer them up 2 - 3 times depending on what kind of look you want. The 'polka dots' don't show through too much after maybe the third coat, but if you have the clear one you can out one coat of that over top and it looks really nice. Doing this also gives a bit of a dimension effect (?) as in the pink dots are a little darker than the clear ones. I can't explain! But you will see what I mean in the next picture.

Chalk Dust over Speckled Pink & Earnie and Birdie by Catrice

This is after 2 coats of Speckled Pink and two coats of Chalk dust. The texture stays relatively smooth which is nice and they don't chip easily. I would recommend using a clear top coat over them as I found that some of the dots would poke up and snag on things. Also it's a good idea to give them a good shake before using so you get a good concentration of polka dots!

Overall I really like these nail polishes, I don't think I'll pick up anymore of the colours as I already have loads of colours to layer with the clear polka dots.

Woo! Collective haul time! I got these things over 2 - 3 weeks, from various places online and in stores.

Be forewarned: this is pretty long!

I'll get straight into it and start with the eyeshadows and eye things first..

So here we go!

I'll start with these wet n' wild palettes I was sent by a girl in the states that I did a swap with, along with some burts bees stuff not pictured.

Feeling Retro

This is my favourite of the three! I love these colours! Especially the purple. The blue and purple are kind of duo-chrome with a slightly green shimmer in the blue and a blue-y shimmer in the purple.

Colour & Texture: The colour payoff is best in the blue, as you can see from the picture, it's also the softest in texture. The purple is pretty good too, especially over a primer like Milk by NYX (which I have on its way hehe!). The white is powdery and not that great. I use it occasionally for the inner corners but it's a bit wishy washy. I'd also say it's a bit too shimmery for a browbone colour, but that's just my preference!

I got good jeans

These are really nice complimentary colours, with a light blue, a dark duo-chrome navy, and a gold colour.

Colour & Texture: This palette is similar to the previous one as the colours range from good to medium, to not so great. Although all three shades are very soft in texture. The lightest shade is gorgeous, and has good pigmentation, even without a base, so does the darker navy. This colour has a black shimmer as you can kind of see in the swatches. The gold isn't powdery like the white of the previous palette, but it does need to be built up over a primer, again over milk by NYX it would go on well.

I'm not too into greens, but I do love tropical looks on the eyes so would use the brightest yellowy green for this.

Colour & Texture: The middle is more of a forest green and is quite smooth. I was surprised with the browbone shade as I expected to be the same as the one in 'I'm feeling retro', it's nice and creamy and has good colour payoff. Although again it wouldn't be my go to shade for my browbone as it's too shimmery, it would make a good inner corner highlight.

That's all of the wet n' wild palettes, but I definitely want more! For the price you pay in the US (1,99$?), they are really good, and it seems they have a really good selection of colours! If you want to get your hands on them but you're not in the US you can find them on Beauty Joint!
I picked this up after I saw Karissa (saturdaynightsalrite) do a tutorial on qvcoral and turquoise eye look. I love the combination of subtle neutrals and a pop of colour.

Colour & Texture: These are very smooth colours. The brown shades have a satin/shimmer finish while the hot coral has a matte finish. The browns have better pigmentation than the coral which was disappointing, but by patting it on instead of sweeping, it does help build it up better. The lightest is a good highlight shade as it is more of a golden/neutral rather than the white of the wet n' wild palettes. It could even be used as a subtle cheek highlight. This is a good palette if you want an all in one kind of thing for maybe a weekend away as you can work the browns during the day then add some colour for the night.

These two I picked up on a whim as I needed a matte white for highlighting and because I don't have a vibrant orange like this in any of my palettes.

Colour & Texture: They're similar to the coral of the last palette, as in you have to layer it up, especially the white. The orange has a slight golden shimmer to it, but it glides on lovely and softly. I'm disappointed in the white as it barely shows up, as you can see in the swatch (or can't see as the case may be..).

Ooh! I was excited to get these! They came from a generous lady in the UK who was selling/swapping stuff on reddit. I love the purple and the blue the most. They're the old style packaging/formula.

Colour & Texture: As one would expect from urban decay shadows the pigmentation is fabulous, and very vibrant. Oil slick is a black with silver glitter in it, but it doesn't come off like a glitterbomb when you wear it. Vapor is the perfect shimmery white, it can be sheered out as a brow highlight or built up for the inner corner. You need the tiniest bit as it is very pigmented and is easy to over do. Ransom is a beautiful shade of violet, the payoff doesn't look great on the swatch but in real life it is very good. Peace is a vibrant turquoise and has some of the best pigmentation of the four shades. Again you have to be careful not to overload your brush as it is a very strong colour.
I did it! I finally got my hands on benefit's hoola!

You may have seen this on my wishlist for a while and I know this is only a sample size, but I don't use it everyday so I have faith that it will last me a while. I got it as part as the 'Bronze of the champions' kit that they have in stock in Debenhams IE now (yay!) so that's why it has the eyeshadow too.

Colour & Texture: Ah yes, it's all I ever wanted in a bronzer! It is very nice though, not too powdery, but not too soft. I will say you have to use a light hand with it or you can go overboard. The eyeshadow is very soft, and a lovely colour. I don't find myself reaching for it too often, as I think it's a bit too shimmery for me, and also a bit too... I don't really know, the colour is a bit cold for my liking. The only problem with that is that these are impossible to de-pot (you can see from the dents that I've tried), so there's not really any way for me to separate them to give away or even put away.

Colour & Texture: It's very similar to the elf cream eyeshadows I have, if a bit softer even. It's a fine base colour as it's very sheers and will add a bit of shimmer to a matte shade over the top. Again, I don't find myself reaching for it that much, but I might bring it away with me if I was going anywhere as I find cream shadows are quick to apply with fingers.

Yay! More benefit! This also came in the 'Bronze of the champions' kit (who'da thunk it!?). I really wanted this for ages, after I found that high beam just didn't work for me. I think it's my skin tone, as it's quite warm, and high beam is suited to cooler skin tones as it's more pinky.

Colour & Texture: This has a beautiful golden hue to it as you can see in the swatch, and it matches pretty well. It has a smooth creamy texture that is easy to blend with a brush or just your fingers. It's lovely for that subtle dewy glow and goes well with Hoola as a bronzer.

I got this from a girl in the US who was kind enough to forward me a Hautelook order along with the OCC Lip Tar you'll see towards the end. I saw shaaanxo use this in many of her videos, and as I was after a powder highlight I thought 'why not?'. Sadly, the golden side of it got completely obliterated on its way across the pond (waah!) but the lighter one survived. as you can see there is a tiny bit in the corner, and I do like it.. which makes me even sadder.

Colour & Texture: It's so soft and creamy in texture, and glides on like a dream. It's essentially like a powder version of Watts Up by benefit, but a bit more of a white shimmer instead of the gold. So far I really like it and it gives a lovely natural glow to the skin.

This is another thing that was on my wishlist after I saw Hannah say it was a dupe for the POREfessional by benefit. I have a sample size of the benefit primer and really like it, but only use it for special occasions really. You can see on the image above how it fills the creases/wrinkles in the hand and creates a smooth surface.

Texture: The texture is as you would expect that of a silicone based primer to be. It glides on nicely, although you have to be careful not to overdo it and use too much as that makes it go a bit 'bit-y' so to speak. I don't have too much of a problem with shine after I've powdered, so I can't attest to it's mattifying claims but I do see an increase in the longevity of my makeup. I normally use it mostly on my cheeks and nose and a bit between my eyebrows as that's where I have larger pores/uneven texture. Also, even though the tube isn't very large, you only need a pea sized amount, so it should last a long time. But if not, hey, it's only 6£!!
This came in my Hautelook spring bag, and is the first 24/7 glide on eye pencil I've tried - so far, so good!

Colour & Texture: These are known for being exceptionally smooth and easy to use, and they are! I find this brown a little too dark for my liking but hey, it's still a pretty damn good eyeliner. It's great for a smokey eye as it's soft enough to smudge out on the upper or lower lash line. It has really good staying power too, especially on the waterline. I use it to tight line my upper waterline and have no problems with it leaking or transferring.
Another catrice product! This is a great palette, and is very versatile!

Colour & Texture: These are very pigmented concealers. The palette comes with three skin tone shades, one very light, one medium and one slightly darker and peachier, then two colour correcting shades - green and pink. I use the lightest for highlighting cheekbones, nose, and forehead. I normally mix the other two colours as both are one shade too light/dark for me. The green and pink are slightly less pigmented but still work very well. I use these mainly for my blemishes & highlighting, as I find they crease a bit much under my eyes.

I used to use the witch blemish stick all the time when I was younger and it worked pretty good, as did the face wash, so naturally I thought this would be a good investment! It contains witch hazel and tea tree oil to help fight blemishes.

Texture: It comes in one colour only, which is a pity, but it suits me so I'm not worried. It's a very creamy concealer that blends out well. Although sometimes after blending you can see the blemish again. I normally have to layer it twice to get enough coverage. I use it mostly when I'm wearing little makeup - ie, only a bb cream and eye makeup. So far, I have found it has helped with blemishes I can feel coming, but not see. As for the ones that are already there, I haven't found it brings the swelling down much.

Urban decay, NYX, Catrice, OCC & MUA

Aaand finally!! Lippies galore! I mentioned the UD ones and the OCC lip tar, the nyx one also came from my hautelook spring bag.

Colour & Texture:
The UD ones are fabulous! I don't have any colour like Gravity, and Jilted is a lovely duo chrome berry shade. Both glide on effortlessly and don't sink into lines. I get good wear from them even without a primer underneath.

I haven't used the NYX one that much, only once or twice but I find it's really opaque and doesn't feather at all. This does require a primer if you want a good day's wear from it, but it does set well with powder over it too.

The catrice one is a gorgeous nude-y baby pink, and has a glossy finish to it. It does well with a lipliner underneath to prevent it slipping and feathering.

Ah, the OCC lip tar! The one and only! These are infamous on the web, and they do indeed hold up to my expectations. Applied with a light hand and a very tiny amount it's beautiful. Careful not to use too much as this causes it to feather and turns out very messy. It's best to set this with a translucent powder so as to stop it from transferring and to prolong it's wear throughout the day. It does contain peppermint oil so beware it you have allergies or sensitive lips!

The MUA shade is reaaallly nice! It's a raspberry pink, and has a soft finish with just a sheen. Again I haven't worn much yet, but I do plan on it! It's nice and opaque and only sinks into creases after an hour or two of wear. Also it's best to set this with a powder also, to prolong the wear time!
Bonus - The coloured bit at the bottom screws off and has product in it!

Yay, that's it! I have a few more posts in the pipeline so don't worry! I also am trying to get some videos up onto my youtube channel :3 So keep you're eyes peeled!

Hey everyone!

I know it's been a while, but I'm up and running again!

If you follow me on instagram or twitter you may have a pic of me with this fabulous mask smeared all over my beautiful visage - if not, don't worry, there's another one here!

I picked this up after my exams as my skin had been going a bit AWOL from stress among other things.
I've seen these everywhere in the last few weeks and when my local Penneys started stocking them, I had to get one!

I got the 'Mud Pac' mask, a creamy, seaweed-y mask that helps to relieve stress. It says for normal - oily t-zone skin, which is my skin.

I used half a packet and it went pretty far. It feels slightly cooling on the skin (like menthol) - which I don't mind but some might.
You leave it on for 10 -15 minutes and let it do it's magic!

It dries slightly - but not like those grey clay masks that stop you from moving your face.

Warning: You may look strange while enjoying this mask. To avoid embarrassment schedule your pampering for a time when you aren't expecting any visitors! (example below...)
After the 10 - 15 minutes wash off with a warm cloth. It left my skin feeling super clean and soft, but not tight. I did apply some moisturiser afterwards in any case. I liked this mask as it hydrated my skin and left it feeling very fresh.
That was a mouthful of a title!

So lately I've been trying to look after my nails and hands a bit more. I got a manicure before my holiday to Spain, and I'm convinced the cuticle oil & vitamin D from the sun did them a world of good. I can see the difference in the new nail growing, so I'm trying to keep it up.

I started by getting the Nail Care Pen by Essence seeing as it seems the easiest way to apply all them good oils to the cuticles and nails. I usually do it after I've taken off my nail polish and washed my hands. I haven't used it enough to see too much of a difference but I have noticed my cuticles are a lot softer, and I haven't has any dry/rough skin around the sides of my nails, which I normally do.

It contains: vitamin a & e, gingko extract, jojoba oil, avocado oil and almond oil.

The other Cuticle/Nail item I got was the Nail and Cuticle Butter Stick from Essence. It's very like the oil pen, but this one is more moisturising. You apply it the same as the oil pen, by rubbing it on your cuticles and around the nail area, then gently massage it in. I love the smell of this, it's just like beeswax handcream!

It contains: vitamin e, shea butter, lanolin and beeswax.

I then got the Essence All Round Talent nail polish. This claims to be an "all-in-one base or top coat, ridgefiller, hardener, optical whitener and sealer". I figured why not try it out! I just have to wait until I remove my current nail polish to try it and see if it can live up to its claims. It does have a purple tint to it so I believe it will whiten, but I'll wait and see about the rest... Update: I just tested it on my baby finger and just as I suspected the purple tint to it does lend to the whitening effect BUT I put it over my pink nail polish on my other finger and it altered the colour, only a bit, but still noticeably different to the other nails. (Nail with brightener is more of a lighter pink, the rest are fuschia pink.)

The last things I got are two hand/nail creams. I got a hand, nail and cuticle cream from Essence (I told you I had a think for it haha!) and a beeswax hand cream from Penneys (Primark) for 1,50€!

The nail cream does the same job as the other two I mentioned before, so I won't go on about it too much. It's a water based cream.

It contains: pro-vitamin B5, natural beeswax and glycerin.

The other hand cream I got from Penneys is a beeswax and jojoba oil cream - it smells amazing. Just sayin'. I got this to try out because I have seen so many people talking about hand creams, and yes I know it's coming up to summer but you have to have pretty hands to show off all the pretty summer manis! And anyway, it's never a bad thing to look after your skin, no matter where.
I got this primarily to keep in my handbag so I would have no excuses for not taking care of my hands, but I definitely am going to get another one, especially seeing as they're so cheap (1,50€). I would recommend everyone to get your hands (pun intended) on some when you're next in there!

It contains: Beeswax, Jojoba oil & Almond oil

That's it for now, I hope you enjoyed! I will definitely keep you all updated on how it goes regarding all my new lotions and potions! Keep an eye out on twitter, instagram and she said beauty for updates!

So today I finished my exam for college (yeah only one!), so I treated myself to these little indulgences (along with some more, but that's for another time!).

I've heard many a good thing about the Revlon Kissable Balm Stain, and I think it'd be dead handy to keep in your purse even.

Rimmel Apocalips have been getting a lot of love too, so I thought I'd pick one up in a dark berry shade, a colour I don't really have anything else in.

Packaging:
The Revlon Balm Stain is a pencil like tube, that twists up for more product. It's really smooth and does feel a bit like a lip balm. It feel a bit tacky when you first put it on, but that fades slowly.

The Rimmel Apocalips comes in a tube much like a lipgloss. It comes with a doe-foot applicator that's hollow in the middle, I believe this is so the product is easier to apply without having to dip back in after every swipe.

Colour & Application:
Revlon Balm Stain (Mulligans pharmacy usually 10,95€ I got mine 50% off)
The Balm Stain is really easy to apply because of its shape. It's really quick to apply so is really good for on the go, or if you're traveling.
The colour I got was 'Rendezvous', a peachy orange colour. It's quite opaque compared to other tinted lip balms I've tried and gives a slightly glossy sheen to the lips. As far as I can tell there is no shimmer or glittery bits in it.

Revlon Apocalips Lip Laquer (Penneys/Primark 5,95€)
The Apocalips applies like a lipgloss, but is very opaque. All I needed was one application to get very bold colour. It feels nice on the lips, a bit like a lipgloss, but then dries to an acceptable texture much the same as the Balm Stain by Revlon. I got mine in the colour 'Galaxy', which as I said earlier is a berry pink sort of colour. This one does have a tiny bit of shimmery bits in it, but you don't notice that too much on the lips. I think it just helps to keep it from losing it's shine. Also, one more thing I noticed was the smell of it - like sour watermelon sweets! Well, at least that's what comes to mind to me, it's the same as the Kate Moss lipsticks by Rimmel. I haven't worn this enough properly to decide whether it bothers me or not, but we'll find out!!

I can't wait to try these out properly! Overall I'm quite happy with my purchases, especially because without the 50% off in Mulligans, I wouldn't have even looked!

Today I'm going to show you how to do my Nails Of The Day (NOTD)!

This is my first post of this kind, but lets hope it's the first of many.
You can find my previous NOTD pics on my Instagram or Twitter feed, both visible in the sidebar.

Have fun!

What you need:

1 Base colour - I chose a bright pink but you can use any colour you want.

1 Glitter polish - I used a golden coloured glitter, but again you could use silver or any other glitter colour.

How to:

Paint your nails with 2 coats of your base colour

Leave to dry (~10 minutes)

Once it's dry, apply your glitter polish to the bottom of each nail

When you've done this, go over the bottom again to build up the density of the glitter

Do some small upwards strokes so the glitter appears to be settling gradually at the bottom of your nails

NYX Powder Blush in 'Natural' - I mentioned these blushes in my Wishlist: May! post because I'm lusting over more shades of these. They are so pigmented! I wear this shade regularly and even though the shade is called ' Natural' I feel it gives a more pinky blush to my cheeks. It's super soft and easy to blend out tocreate a subtle flush of colour.

Sephora Contour Blush/Bronze Brush - I picked this up in Spain and it's actually becoming my Holy Grail blush brush (do they even exist??). It's really precise when it comes to applying blush/bronzer to the cheeks and blends highly pigmented blushes out really well.

theBalm Lipstick in 'Ima Goodkisser' - theBalm isn't available in Ireland, but I've seen them online, and the packaging is just too quirky to ignore that I had to pick something up. The shade I got is a light, natural looking pink with a hint of peachiness to it. It's really creamy and glides on a dream. Another thing I noticed about it is that it leaves your lips with a cool minty feeling, it didn't mention anything about it on the box but I don't mind!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in 'Addis Ababa' - Ok, this I got for the colour primarily. But it's actually a lovely product. Even though it dries matte, it is in no way drying on your lips. It's very pigmented and you only need a thin layer. It has really good staying power, and is perfect for layering over a lipstick to alter the colour. I've used it several times over my ELF Mineral Lipstick in 'Natural Nymph' for a really soft baby pink look.

No. 7 Extreme Length Mascara - I got this free in boots in a little case with various other No. 7 goodies, I mentioned it in my haul post, but I hadn't used it much then. Now though I can't get enough of it! I only got the travel sized version, but I'm seriously considering buying the full sized version!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 'Beige Clair' - I was in need of a good coverage foundation and saw Hannah from Midnight Violets mention the Healthy Mix Serum So I went to Boots and checked it out. It has really good coverage, but without looking cakey at all.

Lioele Triple the Solution BB Cream - After seeing Shaaanxo use this as a base under her foundation I decided to do some research on Asian bb creams, etc., and thought it looked really good. After getting some samples and trying it on its own and under my regular foundation I decided to bite the bullet and go for it! It's really good and I love the smell (is that weird..?) It has really good coverage on its own, which means I don't have to use as much foundation to get the coverage I want, therefore saving product!

Essence Fix & Matte Loose Setting Powder - I got this aages ago but only really started using it recently. It's so finely milled it's amazing. It makes such a difference to the look of your face. And because it's so finely milled it doesn't appear to 'cling' to the tiny hairs on your face. It's translucent as well, so it doesn't make your makeup look 'heavy' or alter the colour/coverage.

And finally...
Catrice Nail Polishes - All of them! They come in such gorgeous colours, it's so hard to resist. The one I got most recently is 'Genius in a Bottle'. It's a copper/forest green iridescent colour that changes depending on the angle. They are pretty opaque - two coats is plenty. They also have one of those flat brushes for application which I really like, as it makes it a lot easier.

Phew! So those are the products I've been loooving these past months. What have been your favourites lately? Have you got a holy grail brush or other product? Let me know in the comments!!
I hope you enjoyed and come back soon!
How are all of you lovely people??

I
thought I'd share with you today my "weekend away essentials". These
are what I would consider the must haves for a weekend away or even for a
holiday. I think these items (give or take one or two) would also
suffice as a beginners essentials. So lets get into it!

My first item is an ingenious one, and it comes from The Collection (formerly collection 2000).

It's
their Cover & Go Foundation and Concealer Duo. It's a lovely medium
coverage foundation, available in three shades, and it comes with a
little compartment in the lid that has concealer and a small mirror in
it. This is great because I think its better to have as many
multitasking products as possible!

My
next item is a mascara. I've gone with NYC Big Curl. But of course you
can choose whatever one you like! This mascara has a huge want to give
maximum volume - and very affordable.

You could leave it at that if you wanted to be super minimalistic, but I've chosen a couple other optional must haves.

I
always use a setting powder for my foundation, I find it prevents it
from rubbing off on clothes etc., and also gives my skin a smooth
appearance. At home I use Essence Fix & Matte Loose Setting Powder, but
loose powders can be extremely messy so aren't ideal for travelling with.
I chose a pressed powder from The Natural Collection. These are the
least messy and I really like the formulation of the Natural
Collection's powders.

Another
optional that i've chosen is liquid eyeliner - classic cat eye never
fails! You could also go for a kohl or pen eyeliner. I don't favour gel
or cream liners for travel as they can be a bit fiddly with brushes and
that.

Finally
something that I personally love to have with me is a lipstick.
Generally a muted, your-lips-but-better shade does the job for me. If
you're not a lippy person something that I always have x10 of in my
handbag is a tinted lipbalm, perfect for a hint of colour!

One
other thing that is probably only relevant if you want to bring powder
is a brush of powder puff. I have one from primark which is perfect size
for traveling - and it's amazing for the price! Seriously love it,
especially as its pink!

That's it for my weekend away essentials! Thanks for reading & I hope you enjoyed it! Let me know in the comments if you have anything you would add to the list. What is your number one item that you cannot live without no matter where you go?

Find me all over the web - twitter, instagram & She Said Beauty (these can all be found in the sidebar too!)

It's time to do my wishlist again - already? Time's gone so fast!
I have a couple of items scratched off my April Wishlist, and on their way to me, but I've seen so many more things I'm lusting over since then.
I'm also due for a favourites post too, and there's so many new products I've discovered since the last one, exciting!

But enough waffling from me, on with the show!
Stila Illuminating Powder Duo in Kitten - I've seen lots of reviews of this product, and after trying Benefit's High Beam highlighter, I think either a cream or powder highlight suits me better. Shaaanxo uses this in nearly all her videos and it gives a beautiful dewy finish, without being too 'in your face'. I have an E.L.F fan brush on it's way, so I'm excited to see how this works out!

NYX Powder Blushes - I have one in 'Natural' which I got in Spain, and I love them. I love the formula of them. They're super soft and perfectly pigmented. I've heard the darker browney shade 'Taupe' can be used as a contouring shade so that is definitely going on my list.

NYX Lipsticks - I have one of these on it's way from Cherry Culture, in 'Narcissus', along with some lip liners too. Their matte lipsticks are supposed to have a great formula that isn't too drying on the lips. And they come in so many shades. I've fallen in love with lipsticks lately so I'm definitely going to get more of them.

Milani Lipgloss - I'm going to admit it right now - I really want these mainly because they're dupes for MAC Lipglasses. I don't wear lipgloss that much but the one I have my eye on is a dupe for Nymphette by MAC, which looks fab on bare lips.

MAC Lipstick in Snob, Girl About Town - I've decided to bite the bullet and go for it, I'm thinking of asking a friend of mine who lives where there's a Brown Thomas, to pick me up a MAC lipstick. I love lipstick so much right now, I feel I should invest in at least one high end one. The two colours I'm deciding between are Snob and Girl About Town. I like the look of Snob moreso than Girl ABout Town as I think I might have a dupe for it lying around somewhere.

Wet 'n Wild Palettes - These are a drugstore holy grail in America, I hear so much about them everywhere. I have to find out a cheap way to get them to me, here in Ireland! 'Walking on eggshells' is the most popular palette as far as I know, but I'd love to try some new, bright colours.

Make-up Academy Matte Perfect Primer - Ever since I saw Hannah from Midnight Violets review this and compare it to Benefit's 'The POREfessional' I've been um-ing and ah-ing over ordering it from the MUA Website. I absolutely adore my Benefit primer but the price is what puts me off a bit. I only have a sample size so it runs out quite quickly too.

And finally..
L'Oreal Top Coat Confetti - Since I've gotten into painting my nails more and more often, and seeing as it's summer soon (yay!) I'd love this so I could do a 'Mini Egg Mani'. I've been collecting a couple more nail polishes recently and I've decided that I'll do a Haul Post of my new ones and also maybe a tutorial post on any interesting manis I do!

That's it for my May Wishlist! Thanks for reading & as always, take a peep at my twitter, instagram & She Said Beauty profiles, they can also be found in the sidebar!
Sorry I've been away from the keyboard for a bit but I was on holiday in Spain (have you seen my pics on Instagram?), which was a-mazing!

I got to see some beautiful places and meet some new and awesome people. There was also a load of beauty brands over there that aren't available in Ireland or England, so it was nice to be able to get my paws on some of those things. PLUS I got a few new clothes too which I might post about later! The weather was mixed with the first day being rainy, but then as the week went on everyday was better & better. Overall I had a fantastic time, and it was nice to be able to relax and forget about my worries and college and all the rest!

When we came back it was back to work - no more sangria for me! And back to college too. Which brings me to what I really want to whoever reads my blog know, maybe it's just because I've had a weight on my shoulders for the past few weeks and I've finally been able to make the decisions I need to get it off there, that I'm in the second last week of my first year of my course and I've made the choice not to go back to it in September. I loved it at the start and I value everything I was taught, but it's just not me.

I don't know exactly what I'll do instead but it's definitely something to do with make up or beauty.
I was in a department store on Friday just looking around and decided to get my brows done by the benefit brow expert, I also got some information on what qualifications you need to have to work at one of the beauty counters and it actually sounds really fun! I haven;t discussed my plans with my family yet but I know they will be supportive of my decisions.
I've been looking into beauty schools around Ireland and eyeing up some 'one day makeup' courses, but who knows yet!

Sorry if it's a bit of a rant but I've been busy with sorting all this out for the last few days so that's why I haven't had time to sit down and do the posts I planned for when I was back.

Aside from all that, I have decided that, as I'm finishing up with college and have the opportunity to wear nail polish for more than 24hrs - working with food or in a restaurant doesn't allow nail polish, I am going to do more Nails Of The Day posts, with nail polish hauls & some tutorials too! Let me know if you think this is a good idea in the comments!

Keep an eye on my twitter feed & Instagram feed for news and updates!
You can also find me on She Said Beauty!
Would you like to see NOTD, polish hauls & nail tutorials? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks for reading - it's a big confidence boost to know people are reading my little blog, and it helps me show my passion.
Hey! So I thought I'd get started on my wishlist posts. You may have seen me mention it in the features post I put up a few days ago. I'm aiming to one every month for the following month (if that makes sense?) So in March (now) I'll do my wish list for April and so on.

Many of the items are dupes for high end/expensive ones that I would love, but alas! I will put the original item in brackets. ALSO there are a lot of e.l.f products in my list so sorry in advance!

Lets begin!

Studio Blush in Gotta Glow & Candid Coral (Nars Albatross & Orgasm) - I'll be honest, I really want them for their dupe-ness! Although I love the colour of both. Gotta Glow is a highlight powder and has a beautiful shimmer to it. I've seen loads of bloggers go on about it so yeah, I wanna jump on the bandwagon!

Studio Baked Blush - The colours are so beautiful in these. The one on my wishlist in particular (pinktastic) is a gorgeous deep rosey colour with a pink vein going through it. And they're said to last quite a while too - bonus!

Créme Broze/Blush Duo - I haven't used any creme blushes or bronzers yet (I have a Stila one waiting for me at home!), but they're supposed to be really good for blending into foundation and apply super smoothly. I love that these are so cheap so they're the perfect tester too!

Radiance Enhancer Pen - Basically like the Yves saint Laurent Touche Eclat pen, but super cheap! I love pen applicators. I think they're super easy and practical to use. I'm very into my highlight/bronzing lately (have you noticed??) so of course this would be on my wishlist!

Concealer Palette in Dark - Again, pretty much the same reason I want the Creme duo, to use as a creme bronzer. This option of using the concealer palette as a creme bronzer actually came from the elfcosmeticsUK youtube channel and I think it's a brilliant idea! Especially seeing as there are multiple shades in the palette so you can mix and match to create the perfect shade for your needs.

Essentials Lipstick in Classy (MAC Angel) - I love this really muted colour, it's so natural. At the moment I have the Lip Liner in Natural Blush which matches my lips perfectly, so why not go the full monty! Especially seeing as my go-to look for lips is the "your lips but better" look.

Studio Powder Brush - Again, I just really wanna see what all the fuss is about and if it's worth the hype surrounding this brush. I'm currently using the Real Techniques Buffing brush and it's just a bit small for my liking so this decent sized brush would be perfect!

Studio Angled Foundation Brush - As I mentioned earlier I'm a contour whore at the moment, so what better instrument to fuel my addiction with other than this! Perfect for the creme bronzers/highlighters/blushes.

And all the rest!

Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout (MAC St. Germain) - So as well as my contour obsession I also have now started to experiment with pink lipsticks! I love St Germain by MAC and I also love that this Revlon lippy is almost an exact dupe for it. Can't wait to go to boots now..!

Benefit Watt's Up - I think the big appeal to me is the idea of this, I love the packaging and everything. It's a more subtle highlight that gives a dewy finish to the skin.

Benefit Cabana Glama Kit - I love the benefit kits! I got the 'How to look your best at everything' kit and it's really good. I like that this is something you could bring on holiday too.

Benefit Hoola - This is the perfect contouring bronzer. Especially seeing as it's not shimmery so it can easily be worn on a regular day.

Bourjois Delice de Soleil - This is a lighter bronzer that can be used to contour or just to give a sunkissed look to the skin. It's also matte so can be used day to day.

Benefit Coralista Blush - I love love love the colours! Pinky purply rougey colours! I swatched this in a shop and fell in love with it. Sadly the price tag didn't get as much lovin' - oops!

Make up Academy Undressed Palette (Urban decay naked 2) - Yup, it's true, this is nearly a perfect dupe for the Naked 2 palette. I have naked 1 but how could I resist naked 2?? The price is a pretty strong deterrent for me - but now I don't have to resist! MUA's dupe is a must for anyone who wants Naked 2 but doesn't want to dish out so much money.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk - Basically a holy grail eyeshadow base for a lot of bloggers. I've swatched it in Moccha and decided I needed the white one. It's so creamy and lovely!

And finally...
NYX Lip Pencil in Dolly Pink (MAC Candy Yum Yum) - This colour is beautiful! It's the perfect, well, 'dolly' pink. I believe you can get a NYX lipstick in this colour too, but I think lip pencils/liners are so much more versatile as you can add a layer of a sublter lipstick on top to take the edge off if needed.

So that's my April wishlist done!

Just a short post to say I love TK Maxx - here's why...

So I was in there browsing for summer clothes for Spain and as always I wandered over to the makeup/hair/general beauty section (there's some sort of magnetic attraction, I'm telling you!) and there in the midst of old lady soap and anti wrinkle creams were two little eyeshadow pots. One was a duo with a rose-gold shade and a glittery shimmery beige colour. The other was black with green shimmers going through them. Both from the company Too Faced. I checked the price on them and I actually had butterflies in my tummy - original price €21,00 & €20,50. Tk Maxx price..... €5,99!!

Of course I bought one! I went for the pink/beige duo (Bon Bon), I didn't get the black/green one (Galaxy) as I don't think I would have really used it that much and would have probably have been put into my swap box. But there you go! That's the second time I've found some real gems in TK Maxx. (A few weeks ago I picked up two Harajuku Lovers Perfumes for 24€ for both.)

Aaand now BB creams! I've been really into them recently - so has everyone it seems!? And as such have been researching them heavily. You may have seen my review of the L'Oreal BB cream which I was fairly pleased with. After using it a few more times I found the "smart pigment capsules" didn't dissolve (?) properly leaving me looking a bit pastey. After that I gave up and it's now in my swap box.
Recently though, since watching some of Shaaanxo's videos and seeing that she uses a korean BB cream by Lioele I started looking up the different asian bb creams which are truer than the american/uk BB creams as they are the originals.

I then found someone from New Zealand who said she could post me some samples of Lioele BB creams (yay!). I got them recently and have fallen in love! They're super smooth and have good coverage, but are still light. I use them as a base for my foundation which saves me from using so much to get good coverage.
Anyway, they were only samples so obviously I've been looking all over the internet to find somewhere I can get them from. When lo and behold I find someone looking to sell hers for ~8€ (12$)!!

I can't wait to get it and of course after I've been using it for a while I'll have a review up for you all!

What gems have you discovered in TK Maxx or a similar shop?
Have you found you're holy grail product recently? Are you still looking? Let me know in the comments!

As alway find me on twitter, instagram, pinterest & now she said beauty! (All can be found in the sidebar on the home page too!)
Hey guys & dolls!

So as you may have read in my previous post I have set new goals for this year's blogging! New features and everything!

This is the first bi-monthly favourites post (so the next one will be end of April), with all my faves of January and February. These are all items that have been permanently on my window sill (where I do my makeup) for the last 2+ months. So without further ado.... Here we go!

NYC Sun 2 Sun Bronzer in Bronze Gold (any good pharmacy, i.e sam mccauleys, mulligans)

I got this aaages ago, but recently have been using it more and more. It has a bronze half and a shimmery gold half. I'm not sure at all what the gold half is for and I haven't really used it as it is quite shimmersome. It's a bit hard in the pan as many reviews have pointed out but that doesn't bother me too much. I see it as a positive - that way I can't get too much on the brush and go oompa loompa! I use it for bronzing my cheeks, temples and jawline. It's lovely and glowy on my skin, and has the tiniest bit of shimmer going through it but I don't notice it being shiny on the skin.

E.L.F Mineral Foundation in Medium Beige (eyeslipsface.co.uk)

I've only recently discovered e.l.f (eyes lips face), but I'm so glad I have!! Since then you may have noticed I've been raving about wanting more and wishlists and the lot! (don't worry, I have a haul post on the way ;)
Aanyway, my first order was only small with a few items to try out but since then I've been looking at countless reviews, top tens, holy grail items and all that, planning my next order! I went for the mineral foundation as I've been itching to try some but there aren't that many brands here in Ireland that do them.
I've been trying it out in all sorts of different ways - on its own, with primer, over BB cream, over foundation. I've found my two favourite ways of using it are over BB creams and over my foundation to set it. I find that this saves me having to find a thick or heavy coverage foundation as the mineral foundation gives that little bit extra.

Gosh 22 Eyeshadow Palette (debenhams)
I got this for christmas off my boyfriend but found myself reaching for it consistently through January & February. It has a good mix of mattes, shimmers, satins and sparkles. It also has a fabulous range of colours bright, light, dark and neutral. It's a really good all rounder palette and it'll probably turn up in an Essentials post at some point or another! The pigmentation and colour payoff are hit and miss with the shades, but paired with a good primer it's really splendid. Some of the more shimmery colour are quite powdery and need a good bit of layering up but as I said, slap a good bit of primer on and you're good to go!

E.L.F Mineral Primer (eyelipsface.co.uk)
Another e.l.f product - not the last on this list either!
I had been searching for a good silicon based primer since about November and when I saw the hype about this cheap primer I said 'why not?'
As primers go I haven't an aweful lot of knowledge but I find this one really is very good. I prefer it to the Gosh primers I've tried and would compare it to the Avon primer. Keeps my foundation on for the whole day and smooths out my skin.

17 Stay Time Concealer in Extra Fair (Boots, Superdrug)
I bought this not with the intention of using wholly as a concealer but also (as it's a shade or two above my foundation), as a liquid highlighter for when I want subtle definition. It works really well as both, and is very blendable and buildable! It has the standard doe-foot applicator and has a medium consistency. I use it mainly for defining my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, and forehead. (You may be lucky enough to get a make-up routine coming your way soon, let me know in the comments what you think!)
Pretty Pink Palette - Blushes! (argos)
I know, I'm surprised as well!? But I actually love the three shades that come in the slide out drawer of the palette. This was also a gift for christmas with varying shades of eyeshadow. I dont find myself reaching for the eyeshadows of this palette at all really, even though they are very pigmented.
The blushes on the other hand come in three shades - a peachy shade, a deep rosey colour, and an in-between-the-two shade, we'll call it rose gold. I use them most days I wear blush, and now it's (supposed to be) spring I am pulled towards the peach colour as it's quite light.
All the shades have a shimmer to them, but it's not overpowering. More like it just gives a very dewy, glowey effect.

E.L.F Long Wear Lip Liner in Natural Blush (eyeslipsface.co.uk)
Told ya so! Another favourite of mine from e.l.f. I've seen many youtuber's/bloggers saying that this lip liner is quite dry which makes it hard to apply, but i found after the first one or two swipes it was very creamy. It also matches my natural lip colour almost perfectly so it works well on days when all I want is a simple nude lip with some gloss over the top. I also like to use it under harsh pinks to bring them down a shade, or to soften them.

17 High Drama Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black (Boots, Superdrug)
I've had this lurking in my make-up bag for longer than I care to remember, and yet it seems it's only now that I have been using everytime I have a craving for liquid liner. It is truly blackest black as the shade suggests and has one of those felt-y, spongy applicator tips which I personally prefer to bristles. It dries fairly quick which is handy for in the morning before college when I'm in a rush and don't have time to stand around with my eyes closed to avoid transfer! It is also very opaque so there's no need to build it up - one swipe and you're done!

Rimmel London Glam'Eyes Lash Flirt Mascara in Black Kohl (Boots, Superdrug, any rimmel stockists)
Another lurker that's come out of the shadows is this Rimmel Glam'Eyes mascara. It has a hard plastic wand (as opposed to a softer silicon one), with two different lenght 'bristles' on it - a set of long, a set of short. I think the main reason I've been using this so much this month is the fact that I've gotten back into doing my lower lashes as well as my upper ones, and with the shorter 'bristles' this is easier to accomplish that with my other mascaras. It gives a nice volume boost to my lashes and adds some length as well.

Aaand last but not least it's.....
Eco Tools Powder Brush (Boots, most of the larger pharmacies)
I thought I'd better throw this one in as I have been using it more than I used to. That may be due to my using more powder products.. But still! I absolutely love this brush, it's perfect for applying powder blushes, bronzers, finishing powders, etc. The bristles are so soft it's unbelievable! I prefer it over some of the denser blush/face brushes as I find they pick up a bit too much product for my liking. This is great for dusting blush over your cheeks and leaving you with the perfect natural glow I think. I don't know what I'd do without it!

Phew! So that's it, my favourites of January & February. Have no fear, there'll be hauls galore in the coming week or two! But you will have to excuse me if I am absent for a while after, I'm heading to Spain with my boyfriend in 10 days, then I'm into the last few weeks of college so there's loads of pressure on for that.

Just a quick update on some plans for features I want to implament...

I've been spending more & more time (too much in some cases!) looking at youtube videos and other beauty blogs trying to pick up tips and ideas on weekly posts or something similar.

I have decided that I'm going to start doing a bi-monthly faves post and also a wish list post every couple of weeks. This will have all the items I really want to get my hands on and why I want to get my hands on them.

I'm also going to post a list of my make-up essentials, or things that I think everyone should at least try!

I was also going to have a "beauty on a budget" feature, replicating a look with cheaper alternatives. I may also include this into a make-up essentials post, or do one higher end, one affordable.

Aaaalso, I've been sorting out my make-up into what I use, and what I don't, soooo there is a chance of a Blog Sale coming up in the near future!

As I said before my camera is out of action at the moment so I'm not able to take very high quality pictures, but I will do my best to try and have as many as possible!!

On a final note, you may have noticed my Approved Blogger badge in the sidebar, I got it from E-Tail PR, who help promote fashion & beauty blogger. Aanyway, they have all sorts of competitions and opportunities for bloggers to show their talent and flair, and I now have the opportunity to do a guest post on their blog! I will be doing a recipe post soon enough, and then I suppose we'll see what becomes of it! I can't wait to do it, I'm really excited!

I will be doing another e.l.f review when my next order arrives also. I got some of the items I put in the wishlist in the side bar. This is also part of the reason I am going to be doing an actual Wishlist post, as this will make it easier to update. I have some other stuff on my way from america but I'll let you know all about that in another post.

As always go find me on pinterest, instagram, and twitter for updates and new looks.
If you have any other suggestions for features I should have on my blog let me know in the comments below!!
Ta-ta for now! xoAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13668058139615549672noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6388941331696452427.post-44342284146048273502013-03-10T15:19:00.005+00:002013-03-10T15:44:20.794+00:00My first NAKED Palette!

Ah! So I got the Urban Decay Naked Palette (the first one), and today was my first day trying it. It came with the Urban Decay Primer Potion, which I haven't tried before, but so far (it's 11:20pm now), it's stayed on all day with no creasing or anything!

I've seen so much about this palette everywhere online and I've been looking for a neutral palette for a while now, so I thought why not.

Packaging

Packaging, Appearance

The packaging is very simple but very nicely presented. The palette itself has a purple tray that it and the primer sit in. I have mine still in the tray for now, mainly so I can keep the primer with it. Very nice velvety finish to the tray and the palette.

It also comes with an eyeshadow brush, which is very nice. I think it's a bit too dense for my liking, as when I try to blend colours, especially towards the inside, it kind of flicks eyeshadow onto me nose. Very good for patting on the colour though.

Colours

Naked Palette Colour Range

I love the colours on this palette (12 in total), all pretty neutral, but ranging from matte, to shimmery, to glittery. It's also very versatile, I use the lightest shade (Virgin) as a highlight for my cheeks. Also I've found that the darker matte brown (Buck) matches my brows perfectly!

So far I'm very pleased with the colour range. They have excellent staying power especially when used with the primer, and are very vibrant.

I found that there could be more matte colours, but I have the GOSH 22 Palette and that has me covered for neutral mattes.

Swatches

When swatching some colours I found that some were softer (in texture), than others. I also dicovered that the light matte brown (Naked) had to be built up a bit before I got the desired colour, this was with primer.

Yup, it pretty much does what it says on the tin. I prime my eyes at the same time, but do them one by one, and I found I had to smooth it out once I came to the second eye. No biggy though, I don't mind too much, just something to bare in mind. It has a beautiful smooth consistency, much like a facial primer. It definitely kept my eyeshadow on all day, without creasing, or fading.

I hope you are all in the spring spirit, I know I am!

Back to business! So today I went for a little shop as I got a Boots voucher from my Grandmother for my birthday. I don't normally get stuff in Boots, I don't know why..?? They have really good deals for what you get.

Pour example: Buy 2 No. 7 products and get a beautiful ballerina makeup bag with four little surprises (worth 34€) inside!

I was like oh my god. I really like No. 7, they have the best lipsticks in my opinion.

So my two bought items were No. 7 Stay Perfect Metallic Eyes Pencil in Purple, and No. 7 Sheer Temptation Lipstick in Lovely.

No. 7 Moisture Drench in Mulberry

No. 7 Extreme Length Mascara

No. 7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow in Mauve

No. 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Day Cream

I haven't tried any of these yet, but I do plan to tomorrow! I'm very excited!

But wait! There's more!?

Yep, there is! It didn't stop there... I also got two 17 products as they were Buy One Get One 1/2 Price. Eep! Offers galore.

So from 17 I got Instant Glow Bronzing Rocks, and 18hr Stay Time Concealer. Again, I haven't tried them yet but I will let you all know how it goes!

Yeahh... Then I went to Primark and got the Essence Brow Set, Lash & Brow Gel, and a make up sponge.

Here's the catch - it's a 'Beauty Blender' replica..?! I wasn't sure what to expect, but I've seen some comparisons between the BB and a Sonia Kushak Blender available in the US, and the BB came out on top.

As with the rest of the stuff, it hasn't been tested yet. I did put it on water to see if it swelled up in size, and it definitely did - 3x the size! This was the major difference in performance of the BB and the Sonia Kushak one. It feels nice to touch but I still don't know what it will be like.

The real ones are supposed to produce an "airbrushed" look to your foundation. Hmmm, we'll see I guess!

If anyone has tried the beauty blender, or even a knock off version of it let me know in the comments below!

Sooo! I finally got my first set of elf cosmetics.

I mentioned in the previous post that I ordered their All Over Cover Stick, Mineral Infused Primer, Mineral Foundation, Lip Stain with Gloss, Lip Liner and Powder Puffs.

I'll start with the Primer first as it seems most logical, the consistency is very hard to describe. It feels almost glossy, but it glides on so smoothly!
I'd compare it to the likes of the Avon Primer, with the same texture.
At first I was apprehensive it would make my skin feel oily or greasy, but it was perfect. I wouldn't recommend this for people with very oily skin, as it may increase the shine a little, if you do have oily skin go for a powdery finishing primer.
It has a medium thickness, as in it's not gloopy and thick, but also not runny. It worked very well with the Mineral Foundation Powder I also purchased.

Overall: 8/10

Next would of course have to be the Mineral Foundation Powder! I found it went on very nicely. I needed to use two good layers before I got the coverage I wanted (I wasn't expecting it to the same degree as a liquid foundation, of course).
I experimented with it by using it over my L'Oreal BB Cream, as both give medium coverage and found that worked as well.
It feels very light and applies over both the primer and BB Cream wonderfully.

Overall: 8/10

The All Over Cover Stick next, and it's a very soft and creamy texture, which I like.
It's a little thin, but I find it covers dark circles very well. Two layers for blemishes and you're golden!

Overall: 7/10

Lipstain and Gloss Duo. I haven't ever used a lipstain, so I wasn't sure what to expect but the results were pleasantly surprising!
The lipstain wasn't a pen like the ones you see most, but more like a lipgloss wand.
It feels like a thick, matte lipgloss, that dries onto your lips.
I was expecting it to be dry and uncomfortable but it was pretty weightless.
Two coats will give you an even coverage. It comes with a clear gloss on the other end of it which you apply when the stain has dried fully and gives you a perfect glossy finish.

Overall: 8/10

Lip Liner. Very simple, nice and soft to apply.
It's a little crumbly if you apply too much, but in reality, you only need a small bit as it's very easy to blend.

Overall: 6/10

I hope this was helpful for you! There will definitely be more E.L.F reviews coming! My next investment is likely to be the eyeshadow primer (which has been getting rave reviews and has been compared countless times to the UD Eye Primer Potion).

Just a short update to let you know I ordered a ton of stuff from eyeslipsface.co.uk last night and you can expect a review in the next week or two!

(I'm sooooo excited!)

I ordered their mineral infused primer to go with their mineral foundation as I haven't really found a foundation to write home about as of yet. The BB Cream by L'Oreal is taking my fancy but I've never worn mineral foundation apart from getting it done in the department store, and I have to say, I really liked it.

I also ordered a Cover Stick too as I like them for concealer/foundation. The other thing I ordered which I have wanted for aaages but never found a decent priced one, is Lip Stain, especially in pink, of course to go with it I got some Lip Liner as well!

Other than that it was just some powder puffs as per one of The Beauty Department's recommendations. I was looking forward to getting a stippling brush and their mineral powder brush too, but sadly they are high demand items and as such were out of stock. Boo!

The prices are amazing, and I'll definitely be going back there. As for the quality, I'll be letting you know shortly!

So, today I'll show you how to make a super easy lip plumper. Perfect for valentines day or just as a little pampering for yourself. Use

What you need:

Small plastic pots

Cocktail stick/Chopstick to mix

2tsp Vaseline (or enough to fill the pot up)

3/4 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp cayenne powder

1/2 tsp sugar (optional)

How to:

Melt your Vaseline in the microwave, in a microwavable bowl, for about 15-25sec, or until liquid.

Add the ground cinnamon and mix thoroughly

Add cayenne and mix thoroughly

Add sugar and mix

If necessary, put in microwave for another 15sec to liquefy a little more and infuse everything.

Pour/Scoop into small pots/containers and leave in fridge to set for 1 hour.

Voila! You're lip plumper is done! The cinnamon & cayenne act as a mild irritant to the lips and plumps them up. It also makes them feel pleasantly tingly!

Alternatively you can replace the cinnamon and cayenne with a few drops of rose oil (or any other essential oil) to make a scented lip scrub. Simply massage onto your lips for a 30sec then clean off with a tissue for smooth, hydrated lips!

Let me know how you get on in the comments section below!

Thanks for reading and come back soon for another Valentines DIY.
